Waste & Recycling

The City's trash contractor is Republic, they are located in Joliet and can be contacted at 815-723-3200.


Trash Pickup Policy

  • Residents are allowed to put out one large item per week for pick-up. As a courtesy, please contact Republic to coordinate any large pick-up.
  • Recycling by our residents is encouraged. Items should be placed in the blue bin provided by Allied waste and will be picked up on your regular trash pickup day.  For more information on recycling, please visit, Recycling Simplified.
  • Trash can be set out for pick-up after 4 p.m. the night before your regular trash pickup day.
  • Yard waste can be placed in Kraft paper bags or a regular trash can. Yard waste is collected beginning in the month of April and ending in the month of November.

  • Monday
    • Route 53 (Broadway) to Nicholson Street, Arbor Glen, Fields of Longmeadow, Remington Lakes.
  • Tuesday
    • Highland Avenue to Barthelone Avenue including Pleasant Avenue.

  • Wednesday
    • Willow Circle Drive west to Gaylord Road including Durness Court and Cambridge Crest Subdivision.

  • Thursday
    • West of Plainfield Road including Whispering Meadows, The Village, Fox Meadows and Crest Estate, Oak Tree Village, Park Place on the Green, Reflection Heights and Caton Crest.
      Also includes Pioneer, Rock Run, Bicentennial, Elizabeth Court, Cedarwood Drive.

  • Friday
    • Carillon Lakes and Renaissance Crossings.

Holiday Schedule

If your regularly scheduled service day falls on one of the holidays listed below, your service will be one day behind:

  • 4th of July
  • Christmas Day
  • Labor Day
  • Memorial Day
  • New Years Day
  • Thanksgiving Day

E-Waste

For More Information or to Schedule Pickup Please Contact Republic Services at 815-723-3200.

-For E-waste collection services, the items shall be in a clear bag or box the weight of which shall not exceed fifty (50) pounds. 
-E-Waste collections are scheduled when the City resident contacts Company directly to disclose the items to be collected and will be collected either at curbside or at resident’s front doorstep. 
-E-Waste collection will not be provided to any commercial units.
