The City of Crest Hill has partnered with MC Squared Energy Services, LLC (mc2) for its electricity aggregation program. The Crest Hill City Council approved a Power Supply Agreement with MC Squared Energy Services, LLC on June 4, 2018. The City secured an electricity supply price of 7.29¢ per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for the duration of the agreement, August 2018 through July 2020. General information about the MC Squared Energy Services can be found by visiting their website www.mc2energyservices.com or calling MC Squared Customer Service at 888-232-6351.
As a resident or small business owner you will be automatically enrolled in the program and do not need to take any further action if you want to participate. All eligible residents and small businesses will be automatically enrolled in the program unless they "opt-out." Before the new contract begins all residents will be receiving a notice to opt out of the program the week of June 18th. If you wish to opt-out you will need to return a form to MC Squared by July 9th. If you are already enrolled in another program you will be given the opportunity to opt in.
The only impact residents will see resulting from the aggregation program will be a lower electricity supply rate on the monthly bill. ComEd will continue to bill all residents on a monthly basis, and continue to be the utility provider delivering electricity to homes and businesses. Residents would continue to receive a ComEd bill and would continue to call ComEd in case of an outage or service needs.
