CITY OF CREST HILL FORESTRY PROGRAM
GUIDELINES
1. The City of Crest Hill will pay up to $157.50
toward the purchase of a tree in cooperation with the resident.
The planting cost and mulch ring is included in the price.
2. Only one tree will be allowed per resident every other
year.
3. Residents and nonprofit groups will have the opportunity to
participate in this program. Since funds are limited, and if interest
is high, a lottery will be held to determine those who will be
given first consideration. We hope to plant up to 5
trees in each of the four wards for each planting offered.
In order to offer this opportunity to the greatest number
of residents, anyone who received a tree through this program
last year would not be eligible this year.
4. Trees will be planted on the property by the landscaper, THE
FIELDS. A one-year guarantee will be in effect directly between
the homeowner and the landscaper.
5. The participant must pay their portion of the cost in advance,
before delivery will be made. The City Clerks Office will contact
participants with the due date and planting date.
6. The City of Crest Hill will not be held responsible for any
damages to private property incurred during the delivery of or
the planting of the tree.
7. Several types of trees will be offered for the program: American
Boulevard Linden, Skyline Honeylocust, Sunburst Honeylocust, Apple
Serviceberry, Autumn Blaze Maple, Norway Maple, Kentucky Coffeetree,
Accolade Elm, Newport Plum, Black Alder, Thornless Cockspur hawthorn,
Red Jewel Crabapple, Donald Wyman Crabapple, Profusion Crabapple,
Japanese Tree Lilac.
8. These are the only trees that will be offered in the
50/50 program, there are absolutely no substitutes.
9. Participants should indicate their preference on the application
form.
10. A sketch showing the approximate placement of the tree must
be submitted with this application.
11. NO TREES CAN BE PLANTED OVER ANY WATER OR SEWERLINE.
12. Once the tree has been paid for, and a planting date is set,
THE FIELDS WILL CONTACT JULIE and have the utilities located.
NO TREES CAN BE PLANTED OVER ANY UTILITIES.
If you have any questions regarding the tree program, please contact
the City Clerks Office at (815) 741-5100. |
