The City Clerk's Office maintains all official city records, including City Council minutes, ordinances, resolutions and contracts.
Applications are available online or in the City Clerk's Office. Events must be approved by the city council and notification of approval or denial will be sent by letter.
Resident should apply with the City Clerk's Office before making any arrangements. For more information on restrictions and services provided, please contact the City Clerk's Office.
Burglar Alarm Licenses
All residents and businesses of Crest Hill that have a monitored alarm system are required to have a license. Contact the Clerk's Office for more information.
First year cost is $50 and $20 each year thereafter. The fee for this license is due December 31st of each year.
Cell Phone - ICE (In Case of Emergency)
In case you are in a car accident or some other emergency situation, please have programmed in your cell phone an emergency number where the police department or fire department may contact someone. This number should be listed as ICE (In Case of Emergency).
City Council Meetings
The City Council meetings are the first and third Monday of every month. The meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and are held in the Council Chambers of the City Building. If a holiday falls on the 1st or 3rd Monday, the meeting is held on that Tuesday.
Agendas are posted at the City Hall Building, forty-eight hours prior to each meeting.
Minutes are posted on the web site following Council approval.
A resident has (30) days from the move-in date or the purchase date of the vehicle, to purchase and display a vehicle city sticker.
Penalty - A $50.00 penalty will be added to each sticker:
•1. if purchased after March 31st;
•2. if purchased after 30 days from buying a vehicle;
•3. after 30 days of move-in date.
When a person is more than 15 years of age, but less than 18 years of age: a. 11:00 p.m. on any Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday until 6:00 a.m. of the following day; and b. 11:59 p.m. on any Friday or Saturday and until 6:00 a.m. of the following day; and When a person is less than 16 years of age: 9:30 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. on the following day, seven days a week. (See attached ordinance).
This program is set up to help an emergency team that may have to visit you in your home. The magnetic card contains contact numbers, your doctor's name, medical problems, allergies to medications and prescription medications you may be taking. The card is to be placed on your refrigerator. The Lockport Township Fire Department has been notified of this program.
The City of Crest Hill conducts a 50/50 Tree Purchase Program every Spring and Fall. Please check back for more information.
All residents must acquire a garage sale permit before their sale. The cost of permit is $5.00 and can be used for up to four consecutive days. The City of Crest Hill has two citywide garage sales every year. The first one is held the third weekend in May and the second one is held the third weekend in August. The fee is $5.00 each for the citywide sales and the city will do the advertising in the Herald News and the local cable TV. Residents are allowed to have two garage sales on their own along with the two citywide sales totaling four per year.

Handicapped Parking Placards
Applications for permanent and temporary cards are available in the City Hall lobby. They require a signature from your doctor and must be submitted to the secretary of State's Office. You may fax your form to Illinois: (217) 524-0119.
The clerk's office provides free notary services. Bring in proof of identification and the unsigned document with you. The document must be signed in front of the notary.
Emergency sirens are tested on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m.
Any solicitor, charitable solicitor or person engaged in soliciting on residential premises or anywhere within the corporate limits of the city must first obtain an application from the Police Department. There is a fee in the amount of $10.00 per person which must be paid when the application is submitted.
Applications are available online or in the City Clerk's Office. Only one organization is allowed to tag in the city at one time.
You must have the permission of the private property owners for the sale of tag collection. Also, the sale of tag collections is not permitted on the public right of ways or other public lands. If you plan to solicit donations on the State of Illinois roads, you must contact the State of Illinois for their permission.
Voter registration is available at the clerk's office during regular business hours. To register to vote you must be 18 years old and a resident of Illinois for 30 days. Two forms of identification are required, one with you current address and the other to verify your name. You may use a driver's license, utility bill credit card, personal check or mail.
After Hours Drop Box
For your convenience, a white drop box is located directly outside the main doors of city hall. This box may be used for paying water bills, vehicle stickers, police fines, etc., after normal business hours.
