Government
The City of Crest Hill is governed by the Mayor and eight-member City Council. The City also has a publicly appointed Clerk and Treasurer. The City is comprised of four wards and the Council members are divided two per ward. The members of the City Council are elected to staggered 4-year terms.

Crest Hill is an active community with a vibrant volunteer spirit. The volunteers who serve on city commissions exemplify outstanding community involvement. Voluntary service of dedicated citizens promotes a positive channel of communication between the City and its residents. Each month dedicated citizens serve on various boards and commissions that meet to review specialized matters with the intent of developing recommendations to the City Council. Any person who wishes to inspect and/or obtain copies of public records from the City of Crest Hill shall follow the rules below, in accordance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. The City requires all F.O.I.A. requests to be made in writing and does have forms available at City Hall to utilize for such requests if desired.
