Neal Sternisha was elected to Alderman of Ward 3 on April 7, 2009. Neal has a unique, diverse background bringing both a world class education and years of experience as a professional in a technical field to City Council.
As a young professional, Neal ventured out into the world to instill within himself as much knowledge as possible. Neal's desire to attain higher levels of professional growth found him traveling to the distant lands of Singapore and the Netherlands. There his knowledge would continue to grow. Employed as a chemical engineer, he absorbed the richness of diverse intelligence, culture, and values.
Existing as a resident in these environments rather than a tourist has given Neal his insight and versatility. Neal’s vision is to bring this global knowledge back to the City of Crest Hill and use it to better our community.

In his personal life Neal enjoys various activities. Neal jogs often through the City of Crest Hill and ran the St. Louis marathon in 2004. Neal enjoys world travel and has been to over a dozen countries and four continents! Neal also enjoys red wine, watching live music, reading, basketball, racquetball, and mentoring/tutoring young professionals. Neal is a proud member of the Joliet Rivals Club and the National Rifle Association.
