John Vershay was elected to Alderman in 1979. He is currently the longest seated alderman on the Crest Hill City Council. He also served as a Crest Hill Police Officer in the 1960’s.

John is a life long resident of Crest Hill and resides in the family homestead that was originally built by his grandparents. He is a widower with 3 children and 1 grandchild. A graduate of Joliet Catholic High School and a retired salesman.

John is a member of the Crest Hill Lions Club, Joliet Antique Car Club, Chicagoland Thunderbirds and the Lincoln-Zephyr Owners Club. He is also a parishioner of St. Anne’s Church.
