The following are some of the more common ordinances which may be of interest:
Ordinance #575 - Towing or Removing of Vehicles During Snowfalls.
It is unlawful for any person to park any motor vehicle upon any street within the corporate limits of the City at any time after a snowfall begins and for a period of eight hours after the snowfall ceases. If the snowfall exceeds two inches in depth, then the parking restrictions shall continue during the completion of the snow removal operation.
Ordinance #1288 - Burning in the City of Crest Hill
No person, persons or corporation shall burn or cause to be burned within those areas zoned for residential, business or light industrial use in the City of Crest Hill, any garbage, leaves or other materials.
Fire Pits: burning of natural charcoal, briquettes, seasoned firewood, wood smoking chips, and commercially prepared firelogs is allowed in barbeque grills, charcoal smokers, chimenea and outdoor mobile metal pits.
Bon Fires: Bon fires are not allowed except upon application to the City Council for permission at specified time and location. Call the City Clerk's Office for more details or questions.
Ordinance #1248 - Weeds
It is the duty of the owner, occupant or person in charge of any lot or parcel of land in the City to cut down and remove any weeds of a height of more than six inches on their property.
Ordinance #1055 - Parking of semi-tractors, trailers, buses or trucks with a one ton chassis in the City.
